How CaniFiber® Tabs can reduce overweight or stabilise the digestion.

CaniFiber® Tabs are a dietary supplement for dogs with L-carnitin and a balanced combination of natural fibres that are known to regulate the digestion and create a feeling of fullness.

Fibres

are available as soluble and insoluble varieties. Soluble fibres (pectin, pentosane, glucane, absorbent ingredients) function as probiotics, helping to keep the internal flora healthy. They stabilise the digestive processes and increase the feeling of fullness. Insoluble fibres (cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin) promote intestinal passage, increase the firmness of the stool and increase the water content of the stool (promoting the elimination of toxins).

CaniFiber® contains:

  • carrot fibre made from dejuiced carrots; high ß-carotene content; balanced ratio between soluble and insoluble fibres
  • apple fibre made from organic apples, plenty of pectin and also insoluble fibres. Beneficial for the intestinal flora
  • Orange fibre has a high content of soluble fibres, good for binding with water. Very high pectin content, thus beneficial for the intestinal flora
  • Cellulose excluding insoluble fibres, firms up the contents of the intestine and aids intestinal peristalsis

The fibre content of the whole amount fed is increased considerably by adding CaniFiber®. This "dilutes" the caloric content of the meal and reduces digestibility. The feeling of fullness (bulking) is enhanced by the increased feeling of pressure (stomach extension). If there are digestive problems, more bacterial toxins are eliminated and the intestinal flora supported. The fact that fibres - and pectin in particular - delay the increase in the blood sugar level after eating and thus reduce the insulin requirement is beneficial to dogs with diabetes. .

Psyllium (Indian plantain)

contains special natural mucins that absorb water and swell up. This increases the contents of the intestine quite considerably and creates a feeling of fullness. If there are digestive problems, binding with water helps to increase the transit time of the liquefied content of the intestine and bind toxins.
